Stronger Communities
EduRise works to strengthen resilient, inclusive and connected communities through participation, volunteering, partnerships and social cohesion.
Learn MoreBuilding communities from within
Resilient, inclusive and connected communities are the foundation of a healthy society. Across Wales and the wider United Kingdom, many communities face persistent inequalities and limited access to the resources, networks and support they need to thrive.
Yet communities also possess remarkable strengths, knowledge and capacity to drive their own development. EduRise believes that sustainable change comes from within communities — not from external programmes imposed upon them.
Our work in community strengthening focuses on building local capacity, fostering social cohesion and creating pathways for communities to lead their own development — in the UK and, through locally rooted partnerships, internationally.

Strong communities create sustainable development
Communities with strong foundations — social cohesion, local leadership and civic trust — are more capable of sustaining positive change over time.
Community Engagement
Working alongside communities to understand priorities, co-create solutions and build the collective capacity needed for lasting change.
Volunteering and Participation
Creating meaningful opportunities for individuals to contribute their skills, time and energy to the communities they care about.
Partnerships and Networks
Building connections between communities, organisations and institutions that multiply impact and create shared value.
Social Cohesion
Fostering inclusive, connected communities where diversity is a strength and every person has a meaningful role to play.
Education creates opportunity. Opportunity strengthens communities.
EduRise approaches community strengthening as an integral part of its education and development mission. Strong communities are not simply the beneficiaries of good programmes — they are the foundation on which sustainable development is built. When communities are engaged, connected and empowered, the impact of every educational investment is multiplied.
Our work is guided by a commitment to community-led solutions, genuine partnership and long-term investment in the people and places we serve. We do not impose solutions — we work alongside communities to understand their priorities and co-create meaningful responses.
Examples of Future Work
As EduRise develops, we aim to build initiatives that reflect our long-term commitment to stronger, more resilient communities.
Community Development Programmes
Building structured programmes that strengthen local capacity, foster civic participation and support community-led development across Wales and the UK.
Volunteering Pathways
Creating meaningful volunteering opportunities that connect individuals with communities — building skills, relationships and social capital.
Social Cohesion Initiatives
Developing initiatives that bring diverse communities together — building trust, understanding and shared purpose across social and cultural boundaries.
International Community Partnerships
Extending our community development work internationally through locally rooted partnerships — sharing learning and supporting community-led development.
How partnerships contribute
EduRise is building partnerships with community organisations, local authorities, charities, housing associations and voluntary sector bodies to strengthen communities across Wales and the UK. We believe that the most effective community development work happens when organisations collaborate — sharing expertise, resources and local knowledge.
We are particularly interested in working with organisations that are rooted in their communities, committed to genuine participation and focused on long-term sustainable change rather than short-term outputs.
